This exhibition explored local, national and international design expertise and exposed innovative ideas about public realm, social cohesion and excellence in designing with water, with a particular focus on case studies from the Netherlands.
Michael Haughton, Chief executive of Arc, said:
"Climate change is increasingly affecting the way we live and how we design our buildings and spaces. One aspect of climate change is managing our water on the ground, and this exhibition will be a very interesting exploration of how living with water impacts on our public realm. Arc are keen to establish Hull and the Humber sub-region as a centre for excellence in this field."

This exhibition was the culmination of a project by Arc to commission two photographers - Saeed Taji Farouky and Sarah Jane Daniels, to depict the similarities and differences between the east and west areas of Hull. The exhibition was shown at Arc in 2010, and is now available to be shown at venues across the city. Read more about this project.
Arc has been kindly loaned an informative exhibition of 20th Century British Housing from Professor Ian Colquhoun.
The comprehensive image-based exhibition was put together by students from the former Hull School of Architecture, and curated by Professor Ian Colquhoun, an architect and town planner whose previous roles include Hull City Architect and Professor of Architecture at the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside.
Based on Ian's publication, 'RIBA Book of 20th Century British Housing', the 26 panels illustrate the best of British housing built from 1900-2000, and places the examples in the context of their political, social, cultural and economic influences.
So far it has been shown at the Arc building, the Hull School of Art and Design, and at Paragon station's
Community Junction.
Michael Haughton, Arc's Chief Executive, said: "We encourage anyone interested in showing this exhibition to get in touch. The exhibition encourages learning from past experience, and is particularly significant in light of the intention to increase social house-building."
The exhibition was originally funded by English Heritage. If you are interested in showing the exhibition at your school, college, gallery or community venue, please contact us.

27 November 2009 - 5 February 2010 at the Arc building
We were very pleased to present this exhibition celebrating two of Hull's newest and critically acclaimed buildings. The new Hull Truck Theatre and the Queens Centre for Oncology & Haematology at Castle Hill Hospital were winners at the 2009 Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Yorkshire White Rose Awards, which took place on Friday 30 October at Leeds Town Hall.
This solo exhibition presented Wright and Wright Architects' and HLM Architects' award winning drawings and models for the buildings, and we would like to offer them our gratitude for providing this material to us to show to the public.
After a successful run in November and December 2009, the exhibition ran for a further three weeks in January and February, with the addition of a new, larger model of Hull Truck Theatre kindly loaned by Wright and Wright Architects.
